The building of character is the keystone of the educational programs founded by Sathya Sai Baba and sustained by his organization.
Inspired by the teachings of Sai Baba, the Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) program promotes Unity of Religions, the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man, and fosters human and spiritual values in children. The Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) program is taught in community and after-school settings and does not include any focus on Sathya Baba, spiritual leaders, or religion.
SSE and SSEHV are both centered on five central human values: Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence. The belief is that if these values are taught to students, teachers, and parents, in conjunction with the normal curricula, all involved will be better prepared to bring harmony to their families, classrooms, society, and eventually, the world. SSEHV is non-denominational and compatible with all cultures and religious creeds. The program is adaptable to all curricula. SSEHV is administered by over 30 Institutes of Sathya Sai Education in more than 30 countries.
