Sarojini and Shyam Kanagala have many accomplishments in the Sai world, but may also be better known as the daughter and son-in-law of Prof Anilkumar, who is famous for being Sathya Sai Baba’s translator. Sarojini imbibed the atmosphere of the devout family she grew up in, going on to become a Montessori teacher, authoring and co-authoring two books, and also becoming well-experienced teacher in the Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) program.
Shyam was an aeronautics engineer for several years, and changed to the field of IT after gaining a Master’s degree from Texas A&M University. Most important for Shyam are not his academic and professional achievements, but his experiences and work in the Sai Organization, both back in India and in the US. He has served as service coordinator, center president, young adults advisor, and is currently the Regional Vice-President for Region 10.
Sarojini and Shyam have been blessed to have many personal interactions with our beloved Swami, including being married by him in 1988. His direct guidance has shaped every aspect of their lives, and they have been delightful speakers at several Sai events, spreading Sai’s love and light in their own humble way.
