Om Sai Ram

Welcome to the Sathya Sai Baba San Diego North County Center in Carlsbad, CA.  We would like to encourage your interest and participation in a wide range of activities and service opportunities which are open to all.  For those who do not know, Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings are non-sectarian, focusing on the unity of all faiths and the brotherhood of man.  Sathya Sai Baba, whom you may hear referred to as Swami or Baba, requires absolutely no cost or “collection” of any kind to attend or belong to any center. One of Baba’s main teachings is “Love All, Serve All.”  We look forward to meeting you at our Center and/or at one of our service activities.

Service

Devotees often make bagged lunches and take them to the Interfaith Carlsbad Service Center for distribution to homeless men who stay at a shelter in the vicinity. Members also assist homeless men in job searches, resume and online application preparation, as well as interview preparation and self-esteem mentoring. Helping homeless people get back on their feet is important to them and us.

Three to five times per year, devotees pack up hygiene kits for people who are homeless and school supplies in backpacks for homeless and orphaned children and teens.
We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer side by side with nurses, doctors, nursing students, many devotees and outside volunteers once per year at the Vista Free Health Screening Medical Camp, sponsored in the past by Brightwood College and the Sathya Sai International Organization of USA, Pacific South –Region 8.  Additional activities for 2019 include leading and singing American folk songs with the homeless people who gather for dinner at the Interfaith Service Center in Escondido.
